This Privacy Policy explains how Tenanting Platform (“Tenanting”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you access or use the Tenanting platform, website, and mobile applications (collectively, the “Platform”).

This Policy is issued in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable Indian laws.

  • Personal Data means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data.
  • Data Principal means the individual to whom the personal data relates.

2. Role of Tenanting

For the purposes of the DPDP Act:

  • Tenanting acts as a Data Fiduciary for data collected and processed through the Platform.
  • Property owners may also act as independent Data Fiduciaries for tenant data accessed through their accounts.

3. Personal Data We Collect

Depending on your role (owner or tenant), we may collect:

  • Identity details (name, date of birth, photograph)
  • Contact details (mobile number, email address)
  • Address and residency details
  • Employment or occupation details
  • Government-issued identity documents (where required)
  • Co-tenant and occupant information
  • Usage data and platform interaction logs

4. Purpose of Data Processing

Tenanting processes personal data only for clear, lawful, and specified purposes, including:

  • Tenant onboarding and verification workflows
  • Identity, address, and background checks
  • Owner review and approval processes
  • Compliance and audit record maintenance
  • Platform security and fraud prevention
  • Customer support and service communication

5. Consent

Personal data is collected and processed on the basis of free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent provided by the Data Principal.

Where required, consent is captured digitally and may be withdrawn at any time, subject to legal and contractual obligations.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

Tenanting does not sell personal data. Data may be shared only:

  • With property owners for legitimate rental and compliance purposes
  • With authorized verification or service partners, where applicable
  • When required by law, court order, or government authority

7. Data Storage & Retention

Personal data is stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purpose or comply with legal obligations.

Data may be anonymized or deleted once it is no longer required.

8. Data Security

Tenanting implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

9. Rights of Data Principals

In accordance with the DPDP Act, Data Principals have the right to:

  • Access information about their personal data
  • Request correction or updating of inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent, subject to lawful limitations
  • Request erasure of personal data where applicable
  • Seek grievance redressal

10. Children’s Data

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. Tenanting does not knowingly process children’s personal data.

11. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. Tenanting is not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties.
